Tunisian Crochet Pattern 100512B

by M. J. Joachim
Once again, I found myself chanting as I worked this original pattern.  {Cast on, chain 1, cast on, chain 1, cast on, chain 1 etc. etc. etc.}

Once again, I found myself experimenting with the Tunisian Crochet Technique today…

This is an original stitch design…you know the drill – intellectual and copyright rules apply. Links, social networking and sharing are more than welcome.

Basic Tunisian Crochet rules apply to this pattern. You will be making a foundation chain, casting on loops and then casting them off your afghan hook. You will be working only on the front side of the fabric, without turning your piece.

Cast on:  Insert hook in desired space, yarn over, draw up loop
Cast off:  Yarn over, draw through loop or loops indicated

Foundation:  Make a chain with however many stitches you need
Step 1:  Insert hook in 2nd chain from hook and cast on a loop
Step 2:  Chain 1, cast on a loop in next chain

[Repeat Step 2 across row. Be sure to chain 1 on the last stitch, before you begin casting off your loops.]
Step 3:  Cast off 1 loop, then cast off 2 loops at a time until you have 1 loop left on your hook

Step 4:  Cast on a loop from the 2nd horizontal bar

Step 5:  Chain 1, cast on in next horizontal bar
[Repeat Step 5 across row]

Repeat Steps 3 – 5 for pattern

That’s all for now, good peopleJ Thanks for visiting the Lots of Crochet Stitches blog!
