Foundation: Make a multiple of 5 chain stitches (+4 more chain stitches)
Step 1: Make 1 dc in 4th chain from hook
Step 2: Chain 3, make 1 dc in each of the 4th and 5th chain from hook
[Repeat Step 2 across row; chain 3, turn]
Step 3: Make 5 dc in center chain of next chain 3 space - Note, the detail makes the difference here. You can technically make 5 dc in the chain 3 loop. However, making them in the singular 2nd chain stitch, truly makes a difference.
[Repeat Step 3 across row, ending with 1 dc in top of turning chain]
Step 4: Chain 3, turn; make 1 dc in next dc (1st dc in group of 5 dc)
Step 5: Chain 3, make 1 dc in each of the 4th and 5th dc from hook (last and first dc respectively, in each group of 5 dc)
[Repeat Step 5 across row, ending with 1 dc in last dc and 1 dc in top of turning chain; chain 3, turn]
Repeat Steps 3 - 5 for pattern
